Dental Implants

Missing teeth can be a major setback, affecting your appearance, speech, and confidence in social situations. Fortunately, dental implants offer a permanent and natural-looking solution to replace missing teeth and regain your smile.

Dental implants are small, biocompatible titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as artificial tooth roots. Once in place, the implants fuse with the jawbone, providing a strong and stable foundation for supporting crowns, bridges, or dentures. This creates a permanent and natural-looking restoration that functions just like your natural teeth.

Types of Dental Implants

  • Single Tooth Replacement: Ideal for replacing a single missing tooth, a single implant supports a custom-made crown that blends seamlessly with your existing teeth.
  • Multiple Teeth: For multiple missing teeth in a row, two or more implants can be used to support a bridge, eliminating the need for altering healthy teeth.
  • Full Arch: If you’re missing all your teeth in an arch, implants can support a full-arch denture, providing a stable and comfortable alternative to traditional dentures.
  • Dentures: Implant-supported dentures offer the stability and security of implants with the convenience of removable dentures. This option is ideal for patients with significant bone loss or who prefer the flexibility of removable dentures.

Here are your four steps

  1. Consultation and Assessment: Begin with a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health and jawbone density by your dentist to determine your suitability for implants.
  2. Implant Placement: Under local anaesthesia or sedation, the implant is precisely inserted into the jawbone during a surgical procedure.
  3. Osseointegration Period: Allow several months for osseointegration, where the implant fuses seamlessly with the jawbone, ensuring stability and strength.
  4. Abutment Attachment and Restoration Placement: Once osseointegration is complete, an abutment is attached to the implant, serving as a connector for the final restoration – a crown, bridge, or denture – thereby concluding the implant process.
